Created for a client's office, Balance draws from the language of a balance sheet: a snapshot of a business at a particular moment in time. Its mirrored surface extends that idea physically, reflecting the surrounding space and viewer back into the artwork as they exist in the present moment.

The forms were generated from weather data connected to a significant and joyful period in the client's life. Three circular elements represent family and community, while the larger composition draws from her love of travel, suggesting the warmth and expansiveness of a sunset.

Installed within a busy office environment, the work was designed to introduce a moment of visual calm—a reminder of rest, connection and the life that exists beyond work.

As the surrounding light, space and people change, so does the artwork's mirrored surface. Balance becomes both a record of a meaningful moment from the past and a reflection of the present: an exploration of what we choose to hold onto, what surrounds us now, and the ongoing negotiation between the two.
