Saje’s packaging has always stood out to me: quality glass, thoughtful design, and a brand ethos rooted in wellness. It made the perfect starting point for a long-term materials case study—one focused on reclaiming everyday waste and transforming it into something elevated.
This initiative isn’t a corporate partnership. It’s an independent, artist-led exploration inspired by the products I already use and love, and by a very real gap in the circular lifecycle of essential-oil packaging. Saje doesn’t currently offer a recycling stream for its glass bottles, and that sparked an opportunity: what could these materials become when treated as resources instead of waste?
What began as curiosity has grown into a larger reclamation program, hands-on R+D, and a full suite of workshops, community drop spots, and limited-edition products made from reclaimed glass. Each piece—from terrazzo-style aroma stones to sculptural elements—starts with the same humble source material and ends with a finish that feels intentional, refined, and design-forward.
This page is your starting point.
